ABOUT PAC-MAN
PAC-MAN is an arcade video game released in 1980 by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. (formerly Namco). When it was officially launched in the United States in October 1980, it became much more popular than in Japan - a phenomenon known as "PAC-MAN fever". The game spawned an extensive merchandising program with over 400 merchandise items, as well as a highly successful TV series (56% share) in the U.S., earning it the Guinness World Records award for "Most Successful Coin-operated Game Machine" in June 2005. With new games launched for consoles and cell phones every year, its popularity has spanned the globe for over 40 years.
